Feliz

Feliz fue corriendo todo un pueblo por mucho tiempo y toda la gente intentaba cogerlo, pero no quería ser atrapado. Estaba con otro perro, Navidad que se dejó tocar, pero Feliz no, se acercaba a un metro, pero no más. Como siempre Andrés de ‘El loco de los perros’, su equipo y los locales perseveraron y tuvieron suerte porque Feliz entraba en el porche de una casa de una mujer que lo alimentaba todos los días y una vez dentro cerraron la puerta y con una correa lo pudieron coger. Feliz y Navidad llegaron al refugio juntos.
Sus pruebas de sangre mostraron que era positivo de Leishmaniosis y también Microfilaria o gusano del corazón así que era aún más importante que lo cogieran.
Empezó el tratamiento necesario para eliminar los gusanos y tan pronto era negativo de Microfilaria.
Ahora como todos nuestros perros, recibe prevención del gusano del corazón con tratamiento para pulgas y garrapatas, desparasitada. Está castrado, con un pasaporte, microchip y vacunas. Feliz como su nombre, es Feliz, es un Podenco de 2 años y pesa alrededor de 15 kilos, es muy cariñoso y se lleva bien con los otros perros y se pasea bien con la correa.

Feliz was running around a village for a long time and all the locals were trying to catch him, but he just didn’t want to be caught! He was with another dog, Navidad who didn´t mind being touched but Feliz didn’t, he came within a metre or so but wouldn´t come any nearer. As always, Andrés from ´El Loco de los perros´ and his team along with some locals persevered and had a stroke of luck because Feliz entered the porch of a woman’s house who was feeding him every day and once inside, they closed the door and with a lead, they were able to catch him. Feliz and Navidad arrived at the kennels together.
His blood tests showed that he was positive for Leishmaniosis and also Microfilaira so it was even more important that he was caught.
He started the necessary treatment to eliminate the worms and soon was negative for Microfilaria.
Now, like all our dogs, he is on Heartworm prevention, and also treatment for fleas and ticks, is dewormed. He is castrated, vaccinated with a passport, and microchip. Feliz like his name is a happy 2 year old Podenco, weighing around 15 kilos, is very affectionate, gets on well with other dogs and walks well on a lead.
