Luna
Meet Luna
20 months old | 27 Kgs | Kangal-type cross
Luna is a beautiful, big-hearted girl with a gentle soul and a wonderfully affectionate nature. At just 20 months old and around 37kg, this lovable goofball — who many people think looks like a Kangal cross — has so much love to give to the right family. She is fantastic with children and absolutely adores her people.
In the home, Luna is a dream. She has excellent manners, can be left for a few hours without any issues, and doesn’t destroy anything. She has long grown out of the puppy chewing phase, although she still enjoys a good deer leg or cow’s ear to keep her occupied.
Luna is also wonderfully easy-going around food and toys. She isn’t possessive at all — her doggy brother regularly steals chews from her and she simply lets him have them. She knows her basic commands and enjoys training, especially when rewarded with a little fried liver.
The one area where Luna needs understanding is around unfamiliar dogs. She can be reactive when she hears or sees dogs she doesn’t know, including dogs on television or barking nearby. However, once she has met a dog and understands they are not a threat, she settles well and can happily play with them. Her behaviour has been professionally assessed by a behaviourist and confirmed as reactivity, not aggression.
Sadly, Luna currently lives in an environment surrounded by neighbouring dogs, which means she is almost constantly exposed to triggers. This leaves her in a heightened state of stress, particularly in the garden where barking dogs nearby cause her to pace and react. Her only real place to relax is inside the house. It’s heartbreaking to see such a lovely young dog feeling so anxious, and this environment simply isn’t fair on her.
Luna would thrive in a quieter home where she isn’t regularly exposed to unknown dogs. She could live happily as an only dog, or potentially with a calm and friendly resident dog after careful introductions. A secure, private outdoor space with minimal neighbouring dogs would be ideal for her.
In the right environment, Luna is going to be an incredibly loyal, loving companion. She is a stunning young dog with a huge heart who simply needs a calmer setting to truly flourish.
She is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and flea and worm treated.
